We have a 1996 Buick. My husband put in a new Fuel tank, pump and lines, now the car won’t start. ?

Assuming everything else is still working fine, it’s likely to be an issue of the fuel getting to the engine. Is the fuel pump working and is it wired correctly? Is there pressure in the system? I’d check those things first.

How much does a average septic tank pump cost?

Take it to a real mechanic and have him or her check your shady-tree mechanic’s work. The problem isn’t with the car — it’s with the guy who worked on it last.

The fuel system needs to be primed. You might try taking the fuel line loose at the engine and turning the ignition key to the on position on and off until you see fuel come out of the line. Then reconnect the fuel line and try to start the car. It may take a few tries to get it started. Ignore that other guy. He’s just blowing off at the mouth and doesn’t know how to do it himself. Also, just for the sake of argument, check and make sure that to motion switch has not been tripped. I think on that model it is located in the trunk on the left side behind the matting.

on new cars you have to turn the ignition on for two seconds then off keep doing this turn the key on and off do not disconnect any lines it will clear itself and when it has reached fuel pressure the car will start. if it ran before then it needs to prime, if you want to know if the pump is working when turning the key to the run only position listen for a hum threw the tank if it does and shuts off it tells me the pump is ok so just keep doing it 20 to 30 times before the system will prime once primed hold throttle plate all the way to the floor don’t pump the gas pedal hold it to the floor while cranking, That clears it out of flood mode continue cranking for 20 seconds at a time then wait a minute it should start.
