The air pump on my fish tank is running but now air is coming out?
I filled up my fish tank and a little water got on my air pump and now it is running but now air is coming out what can i do to make it work?
Ok Here is a real answer with no teasing.. You got enough of that already! OK. Unplug the airpump. un hook the airline and put the end that was attached to the airpump above the tank.( I suggest opening the tank lid putting about three inches inside and close the lid on the hose to make sure it doesn’t go anywhere or drain the tank) Now go sit down with the air pump close to an outlet. Where the airline was, is it wet? hold the pump with the connectors facing down and see if it is draining any water. If it is, try to drain it off with a towel or something. Do not plug it in. If you have a bleeder or anti-siphon valve on your hose, check to make sure it was made correctly ( blowing into it should have some resistance but not much.) and make sure it was on the right way. If that looks ok, go back to the air pump and lets take another look at it. Any more water or moisture on it ? If not, plug it in and see if air is coming out. sometimes putting a small piece of tubing on it can help you feel the breeze. This part sounds really weird but is the best way of seeing if any airflow no matter how small the breeze. Lick your lips and hold the airpump outlet near ..not on or in but near. If nothing is happening, hang it with the connector side down overnight and try again tomorrow. It may have filled the diaphragm up with water and needs to drain out. Hope this helps
Well, air is supposed to come out of the air pump. Do you mean how can you make it work in your tank? Well, you get a tubing hose and put it in your tank.

I’m guessing that you meant to type "no air is coming out". With most models you can unscrew a screw, open the bottom, and let it dry out. Other than letting it dry, there is nothing that you can really do.

HMMM, lets think this through. You bought an AIR pump and AIR is coming out. What did you expect to come out of it? Gasoline?

do you mean "now" air is coming out or "no" air is coming out?

Hi, Put your air pump above the tank. Doing that will prevent the water from flowing backwards into the air pump and all over the floor.

I think you made a typo, but if you didn’t, then your air pump is working perfectly fine!

I really hope that you messed up the typing of your question, because I feel bad that you are getting teased for it. HOWEVER, with that said, PLEASE let me know if anything else other then AIR comes out of your air pump, you could be on to something here!!! ;o) All in good fun, it sounds to me like it needs some "drying out"…….perhaps try a hairdryer on a low setting to help with the drying out of the unit. Good luck!!!! <giggle>

been there……happened to me before (NO air coming out of the pump)
take it out and let it dry for a day or two. Hook it back up and start it running before you insert it back in the tank to make sure that no water will get in it again.
