When I am vacuuming the pool, why does the pump loose pressure and break its seal?

I have a fiberglass pool. As well as it takes a while for the pump to circulate water after it looses pressure.

Some hoses when you lift them out of the water they get air in them and loose prime,or not enough water in pool.

there is alot of diff. reasons it could be either getting air in it, not enough water in the pool or something is wrong with the vacuum

It could be that the filter element is shot, they get too plugged up and the pump can’t force enough water through the filter, so it blows the seal open.

most likely, you have an air leak somewhere before/at the pump plumbing inlet, and when you attach vacuum hose, the increased suction pressure causes more air to get in plumbing..could be underground, but most likely at influent (inlet) plumbing going into pump more tips here: http://www.swimming-pool-information.com/pool-pump-problems.html
