is there a check valve that stops oil from draining out of the high pressure pump on a powerstroke 7.3?

every time i shut the engine off and leave it for a lil while i have to fill the res. where the high pressure pump mounts . it takes about 1.5 – 2 quarts. is there a check valve that is supposed to stop it from draining out ?

wow, thats not good.
it should retain a constant oil amount seeing as that drives your injectors. does the truck smoke a lot? If so, what color? does your oil pressure gage go up when your cranking the motor? Is it consuming a lot of oil?

how do you pull pressure washer pump off the engine honda 3/4 keyed shaft.?
