Pumps

My low pressure pump in 306 HDI died and I had it replaced, car is running fine but around the pump it’s constantly little bit wet with the diesel fuel, I took it back to the garage where they said that happens sometimes but when they opened the seal they said it’s OK since it’s not filled up with the fuel, nevertheless the wetness and diesel vapours when I lift the back seat leave me bit worried. Should I just leave it as it is or what can be done about it? Thanks a lot.

I recently inherited my folks’ 1983 Pug 505 turbo diesel. Guess what… the fuel pump has problems too.

I suppose it would be sacrilege to suggest replacing the car with a nice VW, Toyota, BMW, Nissan, or other reputable make…
