Septic Tank Pump Question?

Monday morning my plumber is coming out and look at my septic Tank Pump to see if it’s a bad switch or I need a whole new pump. 10 yrs. ago I bought from him my Goulds Pump and he installed it. Should my pump have lasted longer then that or is that about right. I have a 900 gallon tank and one person who lives in the house ie,, sometimes 2 when my girlfriend comes over and showers and uses water. The problem is my tank is overflowing. Thanks.

10 yrs from a sewage ejection pump is pretty good. I have seen them last as long as 15-20 yrs., but that is rare. I’ve found the life to be around 7-10 yrs.
The amount of use of the pump isn’t determined by the size of the tank but by the actual float setting.The travel of the float up and down determines how often the pump runs.
Good luck.

i have a goulds water pump that was my dads, and know NOTHING about it. does anyone have any info on it?

here is a picture of one the same,

i have searched EVERYWHERE and can not find anything.

Google…

If you are looking for technical (spare/repair) info I would think that steam (trains) enthusiasts will be able to help

How do you fix low well water pressure?

The present pressure pump is 15 years old. We also have sulfur in our water.

the pipe to the home might be clogged a pump with more horsepower a bigger airator

what will be theoretical approach for calculating pressure at pump outlet?

What will be theoretical approach to calculate pressure at output of propeller block if pump motor is rotating at speed N rpm? like using maths and probably integration?what will be theory?

A pump does not create pressure, only flow, which is used to calculate resulting pressure from input power and output aperture cross section.

Power delivered to the pump is
P = 2 pi N T
N = Revs/sec
T = Torque in Newtons
P = Watts

Power delivered to the fluid is the volume flow times the pressure drop
P = (m^3/second) (Pa) = (m^3/sec)(N/m^2)
Pa = P/(volume flow)

Small submersible electric pump for getting water off cover – ?

I have a cover over my pool outside, and during the off-season it often gets a large amount of rain water that accumulates in the middle of the cover several inches or more deep. Can anyone recommend a really good, small, reasonable electric submersible pump I can buy that I can plug in outside and toss the pump down in the "pond" of water & pump it off fairly quickly? I am sure nowdays some companies make some nice little portable pumps that are waterproof & submersible.
Thanks for any recommendations you can give me !!
Thx TC & Oil Field, good suggestions – Human-guy, no can do what you say, to start with its round/oval, not square – there are no "sides" – also the pool is 15 x 30, I don’t know if you realize how large that is but there is no way you can pull that huge of a cover tight enough so there is no ponding of water on top, u obviously have no experience w/ this situation.

I wish I could remember the one I used in Arizona for exactly that purpose …..I think it was “little giant”….but I can’t remember …been a few years.
I had a retractable cover and would throw the pump in the middle {it had a garden hose attached to it} and pump it out…….. here is a site you can check.
Little giant is also readily available at Ace I think …Home Depot

RBs: Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte, Thomas Jones
WRs: Steve Smith, Calvin Johnson, Benard Berrian, Devin Hester, Terrel Owens and Donald Driver

You have Vick? Definitely don’t start him. I would say start Eli or maybe Brett… but I would wait and see how he does w/ his new team first.

Blood Pressure Disease – The Silent Killer

Blood Pressure Disease, often called the silent killer; it is very common for a person to suffer from high blood-pressure without even knowing it. Blood pressure is actually the pressure of the blood against the walls of the arteries; and, is monitored by checking the pressure of the heart as it pumps blood to the rest of your body; and, the pressure between beats as the heart relaxes. Blood-pressure is usually categorized as either being high, low, or normal.

The initial symptoms of high blood pressure or hypertension are so mild that most people who associate them with other conditions or causes, do not notice them at all, or fail to take them seriously until there is a serious problem. The most common symptoms are nausea, fatigue, headaches, and dizziness. If left untreated, blood pressure disease can lead to more serious conditions, such as heart failure, heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure. Before we go further, we should note that abnormal blood pressure could be chronic and lead to the conditions mentioned. But, it can also be temporary and not cause any short term or long term problems. The most common causes of temporary high-blood-pressure include pregnancy, nervousness over a doctor’s visit, also called “white coat syndrome,” or birth control pills. Chronic high blood pressure has been linked to uncontrollable factors like age, race, and family history. As well as, factors, such as weight, sodium intake, and lack of exercise, that can be controlled. Some of the most effective ways to treat blood pressure disease revolve around lifestyle changes such as changing eating habits, increasing exercise, and managing stress. Yet, there are also medications that help lower high blood pressure. These typically include diuretics and beta-blockers.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is low blood-pressure, also called hypotension. Low blood pressure can cause a few more symptoms than high blood pressure. So, in addition to symptoms like dizziness and fatigue low-blood-pressure can also cause fainting, depression, and cold and/or clammy skin. Low blood pressure, if left untreated, can lead to serious health issues, such as shock. Shock is the term used to describe a rapid failing of vital organs that occurs without warning and is caused by long periods of low pressure of the blood. Persistent or serious low blood pressure is caused by serious conditions such as dehydration, blood loss, or a change in blood pressure medicine. Treatment for low-blood-pressure will depend largely on its cause.

Most people have normal blood pressure. Normal is when the body is healthy enough to maintain itself. The body has sensors that let it know whether it needs to adjust to combat a lower or higher blood pressure. In order to stay on top of blood pressure levels, it is important to have your blood-pressure checked routinely, and more often as you get older. Blood pressure monitors are easy to use and work by electronically displaying the rate at which the heart contracts over the rate at which it relaxes between beats. Blood pressure monitors for many people to identify high or low pressure.

Called the silent killer by many, blood pressure can cause serious conditions and lead to death if left untreated. So, it is important to understand the often overlooked initial symptoms of both hypertension and hypotension. High-blood-pressure has become more visible in recent years, and it is important for those at risk to check their blood pressure routinely make the necessary lifestyle changes.

"Haven’t you been missing this through the summer…you little beauty!"?

It’s not often i quote from Phil Gould without having a go at him and it’s not often agree with anything he says at all. But boy have i missed my footy!
What a game to kick of NRL 2009!!
17-16 (lucky win storm!)

I was so pumped when big Dell made that break and put Cooper in to score and level it up.
But I don’t know what made Hornby think he could slot a field goal from 55m out, if he just worked in down field into the corner there may have been a different outcome.
And couldn’t you tell how the storm were missing big Israel. I seen the melbourne storm number 4 catch the ball in open space a few times tonight and anticipated a long range try…but then i realised it wasn’t Folau. He is a big loss to the storm
Dragons deseerved the win for sure!

But oh well…welcome to the NRL premiership 2009!!
What did you think of the frist game, Dragons were not at there best and still nearly won…promising signs for the red V!
Yeah Bill, Melbourne threw a tonne of forward passes and got away with it. Dragons threw 1 and got penalised for it!!

And how about when storm got penalised for a "chicken wing" tackle, then Cam Smith asks the Ref "whats a chicken wing tackle"
You were doing it all last year Smithy and grappling cost you a grand final…don’t play dumb mate!!
lol Angel, that was hilarious when Quinn played the ball the wrong way and he looked up and seen his team mates in front of him…his face was priceless.,

I was counting down the minutes till the first game. I’d been missing it so bad I was almost reduced to watching re-runs…
First game was better than I expected with the two refs. I didn’t see to many forward passes from Melbourne, and that line from Cam just cracked me up.
I feel sorry for Anthony Quinn, he was spun round on his head, played the ball to the opposition then when he stood up and saw his own team looking back at him was just such a priceless look.

omg and that idiot with the cow bell in Melbourne…That was so annoying I laughed when Joey brought it up that it was annoying him too.

I’m not so sure the Broncos will be the big force they were before for this year at least. After being under Wayne for so long his style has been the only one in the Broncos culture, then the shock of a relatively new style comes and I think it will be a while till the Broncos are back to their best (because I’m sure they could have put the Cowboys away better than that)

Totally agree that I hope the Knights smash ‘em.
