Septic Tank Pump Question?
Monday morning my plumber is coming out and look at my septic Tank Pump to see if it’s a bad switch or I need a whole new pump. 10 yrs. ago I bought from him my Goulds Pump and he installed it. Should my pump have lasted longer then that or is that about right. I have a 900 gallon tank and one person who lives in the house ie,, sometimes 2 when my girlfriend comes over and showers and uses water. The problem is my tank is overflowing. Thanks.
10 yrs from a sewage ejection pump is pretty good. I have seen them last as long as 15-20 yrs., but that is rare. I’ve found the life to be around 7-10 yrs.
The amount of use of the pump isn’t determined by the size of the tank but by the actual float setting.The travel of the float up and down determines how often the pump runs.
Good luck.
i have a goulds water pump that was my dads, and know NOTHING about it. does anyone have any info on it?
here is a picture of one the same,

i have searched EVERYWHERE and can not find anything.
Google…
If you are looking for technical (spare/repair) info I would think that steam (trains) enthusiasts will be able to help
Which QB to Start!!! Favre, Eli Manning, or michael vick?
My QBs are Michael Vick, Brett Favre. and Eli Manning
i know it’s between Eli and Brett but Eli just got that contract and should be pumped
heres the rest of my tream
AND I AM NOT GETTING RID OF VICK!!
RBs: Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte, Thomas Jones
WRs: Steve Smith, Calvin Johnson, Benard Berrian, Devin Hester, Terrel Owens and Donald Driver
TE is Jeremy Shocky
K is Robbie Gould
and my D is New England
You have Vick? Definitely don’t start him. I would say start Eli or maybe Brett… but I would wait and see how he does w/ his new team first.
"Haven’t you been missing this through the summer…you little beauty!"?
It’s not often i quote from Phil Gould without having a go at him and it’s not often agree with anything he says at all. But boy have i missed my footy!
What a game to kick of NRL 2009!!
17-16 (lucky win storm!)
I was so pumped when big Dell made that break and put Cooper in to score and level it up.
But I don’t know what made Hornby think he could slot a field goal from 55m out, if he just worked in down field into the corner there may have been a different outcome.
And couldn’t you tell how the storm were missing big Israel. I seen the melbourne storm number 4 catch the ball in open space a few times tonight and anticipated a long range try…but then i realised it wasn’t Folau. He is a big loss to the storm
Dragons deseerved the win for sure!
But oh well…welcome to the NRL premiership 2009!!
What did you think of the frist game, Dragons were not at there best and still nearly won…promising signs for the red V!
Yeah Bill, Melbourne threw a tonne of forward passes and got away with it. Dragons threw 1 and got penalised for it!!
And how about when storm got penalised for a "chicken wing" tackle, then Cam Smith asks the Ref "whats a chicken wing tackle"
You were doing it all last year Smithy and grappling cost you a grand final…don’t play dumb mate!!
lol Angel, that was hilarious when Quinn played the ball the wrong way and he looked up and seen his team mates in front of him…his face was priceless.,
I was counting down the minutes till the first game. I’d been missing it so bad I was almost reduced to watching re-runs…
First game was better than I expected with the two refs. I didn’t see to many forward passes from Melbourne, and that line from Cam just cracked me up.
I feel sorry for Anthony Quinn, he was spun round on his head, played the ball to the opposition then when he stood up and saw his own team looking back at him was just such a priceless look.
omg and that idiot with the cow bell in Melbourne…That was so annoying I laughed when Joey brought it up that it was annoying him too.
I’m not so sure the Broncos will be the big force they were before for this year at least. After being under Wayne for so long his style has been the only one in the Broncos culture, then the shock of a relatively new style comes and I think it will be a while till the Broncos are back to their best (because I’m sure they could have put the Cowboys away better than that)
Totally agree that I hope the Knights smash ‘em.
how do i connect my pump using the red, black and yellow wire?
I have a pump with no panel cover so it has no wiring diagram, i believer its a gould but it is one of he smallest i have ever seen, i think it used to run the fish pond in front of my moms house. There is no numbers whatsoever on it. All it has 3 wires on it, red, black and yellow and nothing else, no relay or capacitor so i do not know if this is missing electrical components or if it originally came like that. Does anyone have any idea how i could hook this up to atleast test it. All i know is that it work on 110v according to my mom.
i found out that is a popular garden/house hold application pump known as the vortex type. hope this helps with the wiring, really need help to get this hooked up and running.
The pump may be designed to work on 120V or 240V. This is very common. So one of the wires would be a "common" (used in both wiring configurations) most likely the black wire. Then another wire for connecting it to 240V, most likely the red wire, and finally a wire for connecting it to 120V, most likely the white or yellow wire. I don’t know what pump motor you have so I am basing this on my experience only. You should be able to try this without damaging the motor since you can hook-up 120V to a 240V motor it just won’t work. But don’t try it the other way around. BE CAREFUL and good luck.
Water Pump Doesn’t Hold Presssure?
I have a Goulds JPlus water pump inside my home. Last night, my wife and I heard it going on and off repeatedly when we went to bed. I have two shallow wells hooked up to it, so I switched wells even though I didn’t believe the one I was on was dry (it was supplying H2O fine).
Still no luck, so I turned it off at the breaker and shut off the valve between the tank and pressure switch. Today, the pump pressure gets to between 50 and 60, then goes off. It then loses pressure v ery quickly (approx 10-20 seconds) and goes back on when the pump switch hits the lower threshold. It sounds like the water is running back through the pump and out of the house when it goes off unless I turn the shut off valve I spoke of earlier. I changed the pressure switch and no difference.
I can, however, turn it on and shower, flush, etc. I just then have to go down and turn the pump back off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Tommy is correct in saying that a proper air bubble in the top of the water storage tank is needed to provide a slowly declining pressure on the system as water is withdrawn. But if no water is being withdrawn inside the house then a check valve preventing a backflow through the pump discharge and allowing loss of water in the pipelines to the individual wells is leaking. It needs to be replaced.
well pump turns on an stays on but builds no pressure?
goulds plus jet pump
i have no water
I am kind of at a loss ……..do you not have water ?
Or…… are you looking at the gage when the pump comes on?
Many times it will register zero when pump is running, depending on where the gage is mounted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Loss of prime
If your water pump is a two-line jet pump you may need to prime it. This pump needs to send water down into the well (and through a special valve at the end of the water pickup-pipe in the well) in order to bring water back. ………………However most well pumps are “shallow well” {motor/pump inside}…. or “ deep well” submersible …and both are of those are virtually self priming.
Three things come to mind………… the third thing …we want to pray…. it’s not
Bad check valve
Bad foot valve
Well is dry
if you lose your blue cross blue shield card how do you find out how to replace it?
my aunt who is 80 yrs old had her purse stolen and tried the local number in rochester n y but they asked her things she couldnt answer. she worked at goulds pumps in seneca falls n. y.
Go to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield web site, get their customer service phone number, and give them a call, Im sure they will be glad to help send a new one.
would like to increase the cut in of my g.i. H20 presure tank from 20 to 30 but no matter what?
adjustment i make to the cut-in cut off and differential screw only the cut-off is increasing cut-in is stuck at 20, make of pressure switch is furnas pump is goulds
the differiential screw only changes the cutoff pressure ….differential is the difference between cut-in and cut off…shoulld be another adjusting screw to change cut-in pressure
well water 0 water pressure?
i have a gould jet pump and a bladder tank and a well,my pressure dropped to 0- 2 nights ago and the pressure switch which normally clicks on at 30 lbs never did,during the day after i manualy hold up on the switch it hold pressure all day,last night the same thing,do you think its my sucktion line check valve leaking,or my pressure switch?
It is your pressure switch..if it was a leak your pump would be pumping constantly..the points in the pressure switch have welded shut or open… It is a bad switch
