Having a saltwater aquarium can be fun and rewarding or can be upsetting if a person lacks knowledge on the proper and right ways of taking care of fish especially in the saltwater aquarium.
Setting up one requires some equipment to be used for the success of your saltwater aquarium. Filters and air pump are some of the most important facilities. Some decorations can be added such as sand and gravels, which sometimes varies in different colors. You can also include plastic or real plants, castle or miniatures ship and other fancy decorations in the aquarium, but just be very careful that it won’t clutter inside. Light is also essential in saltwater aquarium for the enhancement of the color of the aquarium and especially the fishes survival.
Saltwater aquarium requires three types of filtration. One is the Biological filtration, which involves the removal of the bacteria, which is often created by the fish on its activities, and processes that it undergoes inside the tank. Second, the chemical filtration that is more on the removing of the discoloration and chemicals on the water that harms the fish inside the tank. Third, is the mechanical filtration, which deals more with the removal of the visible materials floating on the aquarium such as uneaten fish foods, wastes of the fishes and other squanders floating or at the bottom of the saltwater aquarium, and this job is commonly done by the net.
There are many considerations regarding the proper ways in keeping the fish alive in a saltwater aquarium, unlike freshwater aquariums; saltwater aquarium is more difficult to set up. One very good example is mixing saltwater. We must remember that water evaporates while the salt is left, which means that the salinity of the water on the tank always varies, which can cause harm especially on the fishes inside the aquarium. A hydrometer may help you track the salinity of the water and add some salt to get the right salinity content of the water.
Beginners can set up their saltwater aquarium depending on what they like. You can just put fish only in the aquarium, or fish with full reef ambience, or whatever design you want, as long as it you make sure that the fish inside the aquarium would be able to survive.
Experienced aquarists and experts say that we must always find the perfect place for the aquarium in the house. If the location of your saltwater aquarium is always struck by sunlight, it may result to changes on the temperature of the water on the tank and would produce more algae due to the sun and its UV rays, which may harm your fish inside the aquarium.
Some people find taking care of fishes as a pet difficult. The reason behind this maybe is that they lack familiarity or they were not given the right information on the proper ways on taking care of the aquarium as well as the fishes inside, but the truth is, it is not that much difficult at all.
There are several steps to be considered in order to become successful on taking care of freshwater fishes.
First step is to have all the equipments to be used on the aquarium or fish tank. One is the filtration equipment, which is responsible for keeping and maintaining the cleanliness and freshness of the water on the tank and you need an air pump to keep the water on the tank aerated and to produce oxygen for the fish or plants inside the tank.
Decorations such as gravel, sand, and plants that can be plastic or real ones, depending on your choice, are great ideas as well. There are also some decorations nowadays made of plastic such as a fortress, vessel, shells and other fancy garlands and some aquarium backgrounds, which are commonly underwater views. Lights also give a very desirable effect on the enhancement of color in the aquarium and gives real plants inside chlorophyll for them to grow. However, beware of putting different decorations inside the tank because it may just pollute the water or just muddle the water inside. Always remember that fishes needs space for them to swim.
There must also be a cover on the aquarium to protect dust or other materials going into the tank. A stand for the aquarium also plays a vital role in keeping the balance of the tank. Other cleaning materials is also important such as a net, chlorine remover, heater for keeping the right temperature of the water and most importantly, fish food.
Some of the best advices is to be careful in feeding the fish because over feeding of fish may result to harm. There are also some people who put too many fishes on their aquarium, do not forget that some fish fights and it might cause inadequate supply of oxygen for the fish and real plants inside the tank if there are too many fishes on the tank.

Getting the best performance out of your diesel engine is what every truck enthusiast strives for. In order to accomplish that, sometimes you need to go outside of the stock options and get yourself some upgrades. Other times it is the stock options that are causing the performance. This is the case with the injection pumps in some Dodge Cummins diesel engines. The Cummins diesel engine manufactured by Dodge between 1998 and 2002 came equipped with a Bosch VP44 injection pump. Unfortunately these injection pumps have been know to have their fair share of issues and may need to be replaced.
Bosch VP44 injection pumps perform four basic functions:
1 - Varying the timing relative to engine speed.
2 - Producing the high fuel pressure required for injection
3 - Distributing the high-pressure, metered fuel to each cylinder at the precise time
4 - Metering the exact amount of fuel for each injection cycle
The Bosch VP44 is an electronic rotary distributor pump that can vary fuelling and injection timing, and also contains fuelling, timing, and diagnostic data.
The number one cause of Bosch VP44 injection pump failure is a drop in fuel line pressure, which is usually due to a malfunctioning lift pump. Normal fuel pressure is around 15psi and if the pressure drops below 5psi an injection pump failure is probable. Remember bad lift pumps can run unnoticed until costly damage is done to the Bosch VP44 injection pump.
The following are the top two most common mechanical failures:
1 - Check Engine Code 216
This is the most common mechanical failure and occurs over a period of time when weak lift pumps, with low fuel pressure; rupture the diaphragm in the front of the injection pump. The timing piston will then vibrate to a point where it wears the housing of the pump down until the fuel is able to bypass the piston. Dodge has recognized this problem for some time, and they no longer even sell the lift pump that goes on the side of the block anymore, instead they replace it with a unit that is now mounted in the tank.
2 - Rotor Seizure
Another mechanical failure with the Bosch VP44 injection pump happens when the rotor seizes in the distributor section of the pump. The most common cause for the seizure is a lack of lubrication. Since the fuel lubricates the Bosch VP44 injection pumps, weak lifts pumps can again be blamed for this failure. The seizure will then break the Drive Plate and the truck will stop running, never to start again, until the Bosch VP44 injection pump is replaced.
Preventing Bosch VP44 injection pump Failure
The best way to avoid failures of the Bosch VP44 injection pump is to prevent them from happening. Purchasing a replacement lift pump, one that is of a better quality than what comes from the factory will help. If that option is too costly, you can also install a gauge to monitor your fuel pressure. With the gauge you will be able to know when your lift pump is going out and can easily fix the problem before you lose the Bosch VP44 injection pump.
Preventing problems before they occur is the best way to take care of your truck.

Does anyone know where to find small A/C powered submersible pumps, that operate at 20-25 psi? I can only find D/C pumps for ship use.
I need one for running humidifiers and misters for large terrariums
I need a 3 ft lift to go from the pump into 1/4 inch micro-tubing. The tubes are then split off into 5 mister heads rated at 20-25 psi and 15 gpm flow rate.
—as for the power supply, I am not exactly sure on how to rig the 25 volt d/c supply to a sub-pump without a shock hazard. Any advice on that would also be helpful.
I would look on-line at www.usabluebook.com or at www.grainger.com…
What you need is a pump that can produce 5 x15 = 75 gallons per min at whatever total dynamic head (thats static pressure + dynamic (water moving) pressure) …. do not buy the biggest pump as this will put out too much so bu one that fits your system. If your tubing runs are short and you are using plastic pipe dont worry too much about calculating the static pressure just add up the pressure of the spray nozzles…so in your case you need a pump that will run 75 gpm at 25 psi…The websites I gave you may have what are called pump curves that plot total dynamic head (pressure) against flow and some may also have efficiency on there as well choose the highest efficiency pump for your pressure and flow… Good luck…

I discovered that the septic tank is underneath the add-on to my house. There is about 18" of crawl space at that point. How do I get that pumped out? Could I put some 6" pvc throught the hatch and 90 degree the pipe out from under the house to have it pumped? I need to get a new system put in place but I feel the old tank should at least be pumped out.
professionals have long flexible hoses that will do the job. a small person may be able to get the hose to the cleanout pipe. tell them the layout when calling.

I need to find a small water pump that can be submerged in water up to around 80 Celsius and as low as 5 Celsius (don’t worry there will be no fish in the tank) and can recirculate water. Ideally it will not be very tall (5cm) or wide (5cm) with length being less than 20cm and will simply pump from one end of the tank to the other via tubes. All the aquarium ones I found seem to have a filter system and are too tall for my purpose.
You should check out a plant grow - hydroponics store. Look them up locally. It will be cheaper than fish equipment too.

I have a 26 Gallon fish tank and my dad says that the bubbles from my pump should not be disrupting the surface of the water and my tank has a lid
Bubbles go up …. so of course they disrupt the surface.
If Dad means "agitating it excessively" … well … that’s up to you.
Bubble wands/air stones don’t put oxygen in the water (probably only 1% of the volume of air actually dissolves into the water),it’s the agitation of the surface that aides in gas exchange that helps the dissolved oxygen content. The more the agitation, the greater the gas exchange, the higher the potential for dissolved oxygen … let it rip.
On a side note … the finer the bubbles are the more likely they are to transfer oxygen on their way up (but it’s still not a significant percentage).

i have a gould jet pump and a bladder tank and a well,my pressure dropped to 0- 2 nights ago and the pressure switch which normally clicks on at 30 lbs never did, during the day after i manualy hold up on the switch it hold pressure all day, last night the same thing,do you think its my sucktion line check valve leaking,or my pressure switch?
It is your pressure switch..if it was a leak your pump would be pumping constantly..the points in the pressure switch have welded shut or open… It is a bad switch

What is the main purpose of an internal combustion engines oil pump? Is it to build oil pressure in the engine?
To make it clearer, does the oil pump determine engine oil pressure (the pressure you read on the gauge) or is it just for oil distribution.
The oil pump generates it’s own pressure to supply the moving parts of the engine with adequate lubrication
